About Us

Hello and welcome to South West Alternative Provision, or as we like to call it...SWAP

We established this provision with the primary goal of helping young people navigate the challenges of their school journey. Recognizing that each young person faces their own personal struggles, our staff, who have experienced similar challenges in their youth, can connect with them on a personal level.

Our Team

Every new staff member undergoes a rigorous induction program, allowing us to assess their competencies and ensure our activities are delivered to the highest standard. We are committed to personal development and encourage all staff to continuously expand their knowledge in areas that benefit the young people throughout their time with us.

Our staff aim to create an inspiring, fun, and engaging environment for young people. We achieve this through positive role modeling, attachment based mentoring, empowering staff to be creative in their delivery, and providing support for their ideas. When staff take ownership of their roles, we foster a progressive and relevant provision.

It’s not just the instructors on site who make a difference; it's also the dedicated staff who maintain the facility, ensure equipment is clean, and keep the kitchen stocked. The administration team plays a crucial role by providing schools and local authorities with attendance records and reports, while the safeguarding team advocates for young people during family and school meetings.

We are not just a team; we are a family committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the young people who attend our provision.
