Curriculum

Curriculum

Our flexible, customized curriculum empowers young people to participate in military-inspired activities that foster self-confidence, promote positive behavior changes, and build resilience.

The 'military-inspired' approach shapes how we deliver activities to young people, but this is not a boot camp! By prioritizing relationship-building and trust over formal education at the start, we create a strong foundation that encourages young people to engage, understand, and begin communicating effectively.

We consistently uphold military values in everything we do and promote them in every activity. It is essential for the young people attending the provision to understand the meaning of these values and learn how to apply them individually.

Phase 1 Training

After establishing attachment based mentoring with the instructors and the environment, we tailor our efforts to the specific learning style of each young person. By adapting our activities, we enhance engagement and use hands-on practice to emphasize the importance of communication, and demonstrating what succeeding truly looks and feels like.

At the end of each term, all individuals will take part in an 'Exped.' This impactful activity brings together the knowledge they've acquired throughout the term, ensuring that every moment with us is relevant and purposeful. Our 'Exped' is designed to challenge all participants, encouraging them to draw on their newfound resilience, collaborate effectively as a team, and communicate with intention. They will come to understand that they have the power to influence their own outcomes.

Our activities are grounded in fundamental ideals that inspire young people to face their challenges and take responsibility for their actions. By providing mentoring and guidance, we help them unlock their full potential, drawing on proven military principles that have been effective for years.

Phase 2 Training

Starting from year 10, we combine placements with on-site activities and mentoring, as well as work experience in their areas of interest. This approach helps young people grasp the transition from school to a potential career path that they may not have previously thought about.

Through our mentorship, we help alleviate the pressure on schools and families to manage young individuals throughout this phase. We have successfully placed many young people in different roles, and if they find that a position isn't the right fit, we work with them to discover a more suitable opportunity for their growth.
